Buenas noches, Querido Hermano Presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y Digno Sucesor de Bolívar y de Chávez.
¿Qué dicen en estos momentos en que estamos aquí reunidos los Países del ALBA? No venimos lanzando bombas, ni cohetes, ni amenazas; pero sí, lo que está claro, lo que está a la vista, es que, Miércoles 20 de Agosto, a las 16:06 horas, 20 de Agosto del 2025, las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel han iniciado la ofensiva sobre la Ciudad de Gaza, informa la misma Prensa israelí con referencia a fuentes militares:
“El Ministro de Defensa israelí, Israel Katz autorizó este Miércoles el Plan a las FDI para tomar el control de la Ciudad de Gaza. La Operación que llega en nombre de Carros de Gedeón, fue aprobada tras una reunión de evaluación de la cúpula militar”.
Esas son las políticas, las políticas de las Potencias Imperialistas que alimentan con armamentos a los Gobernantes israelíes, que están empeñados en destruir al Pueblo Palestino, al Pueblo de Gaza. Y lo dicen tranquilamente. Y no hay mayores reacciones en el Mundo, no hay mayores reacciones de parte de los llamados Países democráticos, las Potencias democráticas europeas, muchos menos de los Gobernantes norteamericanos que alimentan con armamentos esa estrategia para dominar toda esa zona; el objetivo no solamente es Gaza, el objetivo es dominar toda esa región, y la quieren para sí los Imperialistas de la Tierra.
Son realmente dos posiciones, dos actitudes, totalmente contrastantes: Por un lado, los gritos de guerra, gritos para asesinar, para seguir matando niños, para seguir matando de hambre en la Zona de Gaza. Y, por otro lado, hay voces, es cierto, voces sensibles que protestan, pero cuyas protestas no tienen eco en los Organismos Internacionales, mucho menos en Naciones Unidas. No tienen eco.
Y a contra parte, no solamente agreden, destruyen, asesinan, en esas regiones, sino que también agreden y amenazan a nuestra Región, América Latina y el Caribe, que declaró una Zona de Paz, así lo declaramos, así lo decidimos, y así estamos actuando, moviéndonos.
A pesar de las contradicciones que puedan existir, a pesar de las diferencias que puedan darse, en América Latina y el Caribe, bueno, venimos marchando, venimos avanzando, superando las agresiones de los que están destruyendo al Pueblo, allá en Gaza; superando los bloqueos, las sanciones, las amenazas de todo tipo.
Y, por último, ya han lanzado una amenaza que resulta increíble, no la amenaza, porque quien lo hace siempre ha actuado con la fuerza, con la violencia, lanzando bombas atómicas en Hiroshima y Nagasaki, sino, lo increíble es la forma, yo diría sumisa, con que reacciona la Comunidad Internacional.
Cómo es posible que América Latina entera, Territorio de Paz, no haya reaccionado de manera unánime y fuerte, ante la amenaza que lanzan los Nerones de Washington, ofreciendo una recompensa de millones de dólares por la Vida del Presidente Legítimo de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela.
Claro que ha reaccionado el Pueblo Bolivariano, claro que han reaccionado Pueblos que estamos en el ALBA, Pueblos que estamos más comprometidos con la defensa de la Dignidad y la Soberanía de nuestros País; pero no ha habido una respuesta contundente de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños, no la habido, y eso es cobardía, eso es sumisión, eso es rendición. Porque hoy lo hacen con Venezuela y mañana intentarán hacerlo con otro País que hoy aparece sumido a sus políticas, a las políticas del Imperialismo.
Y nosotros hacemos un llamado a unir fuerzas, tenemos que unir fuerzas, unir fuerzas desde las bases, desde los Pueblos, y que salga la Dignidad de los Gobernantes Latinoamericanos para defender la Soberanía de sus propios Pueblos. Porque la amenaza, la agresión contra el Presidente de Venezuela, Hermano Nicolás Maduro Moros, no es más que una amenaza a la Soberanía de Venezuela y una amenaza a la Soberanía de toda América Latina y el Caribe, y eso no se puede dejar pasar.
Yo quisiera hacer un corto recorrido en lo que ha sido la Historia. Donde nos hemos unido, hemos logrado grandes Victorias. Donde los Pueblos del Sur se unieron, bajo la Bandera de Bolívar, de Sucre, bajo la Bandera de los Libertadores, se logró derrotar a la Potencia Militar más grande que se había instalado en esta Región, y que parecían inexpugnables. Y se logró la derrota, y no lograron después, los españoles no lograron, ni siquiera intentaron retomar lo que había sido su Colonia, su inmensa Colonia en América Latina y el Caribe.
Y en Nicaragua, en el año 1855, recién independizada Nicaragua de España, Centroamérica se independizó en el año 1821, ya en el año 1855 ya estaban los Imperialistas queriendo apoderarse de Nicaragua, y desde Nicaragua de todo Centroamérica, e ir hasta México. Esa era una estrategia que tenían allá en Estados Unidos, en las guerras entre el Norte y el Sur, las fuerzas racistas del Sur que apostaban por ampliar el territorio norteamericano, a costa del territorio mexicano, a costa de los territorios centroamericanos.
Y en esos años vino a Nicaragua una expedición de mercenarios, bien armados, bien apertrechados, y venían a apoyar a una empresa que había logrado contratos con el Gobierno Liberal, para que se le cediera a esa empresa el Derecho de utilizar la vía del Canal por Nicaragua.
Era la época de la fiebre del Oro y entonces eran miles de norteamericanos cruzando de la Costa Este a la Costa Oeste, y por Nicaragua pasaron miles de norteamericanos navegando por el Río San Juan, por el Lago, y al final llegando al Puesto de Rivas, un pequeño trecho que lo superaban montando a los pasajeros que venían en barcos grandes, montándolos en Diligencias. Las Diligencias recorrían 20 kilómetros y al otro lado estaba el otro gran barco que los llevaba a la Costa Oeste.
Y los filibusteros que habían sido contratados por un Presidente Liberal, sencillamente lo que hicieron fue desconocer al Presidente Liberal; tomaron ellos el Poder, y llamaron a Elecciones, organizadas por ellos, y de ahí salió electo el Jefe de la Expedición, William Walker, Presidente de Nicaragua en ese momento, reconocido por el Departamento de Estado, con Embajador presentando Credenciales allá en Washington.
Pero vino la rebelión del Pueblo, de los Indios, de los Campesinos, de los Patriotas, que no eran ilustres Guerreros, sino que eran sencillamente Hombres y Mujeres que tenían realmente, Dignidad y Valor para enfrentarse a esa fuerza poderosa. Y empezaron los combates y se fueron derrotando a los filibusteros, y con la caída de un Coronel filibustero, eso sembró temor, y al final fueron derrotados y expulsados de Nicaragua.
En esas circunstancias cuánto valor se necesita en un Pueblo para enfrentarse a un enemigo tan poderoso como ese. Y luego, ya estaban las tropas yanquis en Nicaragua de nuevo, en el año 1912, habían derrocado a un Gobierno Liberal y estaban instaladas en Nicaragua de nuevo. Pero se les enfrentó un Patriota, Benjamín Zeledón, y que tuvo Hombres Dignos y Mujeres Dignas que lo acompañaron en las batallas, murió en los combates.
Y Sandino, que vio los combates y vio cómo a Zeledón lo paseaban por las calles en carreta, para que la gente tuviera temor, no se atreviera a enfrentar a los yanquis; Sandino más bien cogió coraje y ya estando las tropas yanquis aquí, Sandino escribió:
“Acepto la invitación a la lucha y yo mismo la provoco y al reto del invasor cobarde y de los traidores de mi Patria, contesto con mi grito de combate y mi pecho y el de mis soldados formarán murallas donde se lleguen a estrellar legiones de los enemigos de Nicaragua. Podrá morir el último de mis soldados, que son los soldados de la libertad de Nicaragua, pero antes, más de un batallón de los vuestros, invasor rubio, habrán mordido el polvo de mis agrestes montañas”.
Con ese Mensaje arrancaba Sandino la batalla que duró ocho años, donde los yanquis utilizaron aviones, bombardearon, y venían más tropas y venían más tropas, y salían más tropas, así ocho años, hasta que tuvieron que retirarse, aceptar que no podían dominar, no podían derrotar a Sandino.
Y les decía Sandino en esos momentos de combates: “Venid, gleba de morfinómanos; venid a asesinarnos en nuestra propia tierra, que yo os espero a pie firme…”
Fíjense bien, Sandino utilizando en aquel momento lo que los yanquis andan queriendo contaminar a los Patriotas, a los Pueblos, con el tráfico de drogas, y ya en aquellos momentos en los Estados Unidos se traficaba con la morfina, ya se traficaba.
Incluso, se descubrieron en esa época soldados norteamericanos, oficiales, que en misiones que iban a Asia, venían de retorno con la morfina a hacer el negocio a los Estados Unidos. O sea que, los que iniciaron el negocio del narcotráfico, son los Estados Unidos y la empezaron con la morfina.
Y Sandino lo vio y lo dijo, les dijo: “Venid, gleba de morfinómanos”; porque estaba seguro que venían todos cargados de morfina para coger valor y combatir a Sandino.
Estamos, realmente, enfrentados ya a una batalla que no la hemos buscado nosotros. Nosotros lo
que hemos buscado es la Paz y hemos luchado por la Paz, buscamos el entendimiento, el diálogo, y el yanqui responde con más golpes, y responde buscando cómo ahogar a la Hermana República de Cuba. Nuestra Solidaridad con el Pueblo de Cuba, Miguel; nuestra Solidaridad con el Pueblo de Fidel, de Raúl, con ese Pueblo Heroico.
A propósito, ¿por qué el terror de los Imperialistas a que surjan Gobiernos Progresistas, Gobiernos Revolucionarios? Ellos no pierden de vista lo que aconteció a raíz del Triunfo de la Revolución Cubana.
Cuando triunfa la Revolución Cubana realmente fue una verdadera sorpresa para los Imperialistas, no se lo esperaban que triunfara la Revolución Cubana. Pero Triunfa la Revolución Cubana y logra consolidarse bajo la dirección del Comandante Fidel.
La Revolución Cubana triunfa en el año de 1959, pasan 10 años, 1969 ya, y en América Latina hay mucha Solidaridad con la Revolución Cubana, hay muchos deseos de luchar; o sea, el ejemplo de la Resistencia de la Revolución Cubana le da fortaleza a los Pueblos y luchan por todos lados, y luchamos aquí en Nicaragua también, y 20 años después del Triunfo de la Revolución Cubana, triunfa la Revolución Sandinista, en el 79… 59 al 79.
A eso es que le tienen terror los Imperialistas, a lo que es la Fuerza de los Pueblos cuando se deciden a luchar y cuando hay Dirigentes como Chávez, en el caso de Venezuela, que asumió de frente el reto, el desafío, de luchar por la Paz, luchar por el Beneficio de los Pueblos. No se planteó ninguna guerra Chávez, igual Nicolás.
Pero está el ejemplo que son Revoluciones y está el ejemplo de la Revolución Cubana y está el ejemplo de la Revolución Sandinista. Entonces hay que liquidarlas, para que los Imperialistas puedan adueñarse de la Soberanía de los Pueblos de América Latina y el Caribe. Pero ¡No Podrán! ¡Ni Pudieron, Ni Podrán!
Cuántos intentos en contra de Cuba, cuántos intentos en contra de Venezuela, cuántos intentos en contra de Nicaragua… ¡Y No Pudieron, Ni Podrán! Y hoy más que nunca, que estamos cada día más conscientes del enemigo que enfrentamos y que además hemos aprendido a avanzar, en medio de las dificultades, en medio de los bloqueos, en medio de las sanciones, hemos logrado avanzar, hemos logrado mejorar las condiciones de Vida de nuestros Pueblos.
Venezuela cómo ha logrado avanzar. Aquí en Nicaragua hemos logrado defender la Paz, y defendiendo la Paz se puede avanzar en la mejoría de las condiciones sociales, económicas, productivas, educativas, de Salud, etc.
Y Cuba es el Ejemplo Heroico más sólido, más firme que tenemos, y tenemos que brindarle toda nuestra Solidaridad, todo nuestro apoyo, para que salgamos de este momento de desafío. Porque es un desafío mayor el que tenemos enfrente ahorita, es un desafío mayor que, estoy seguro, vamos a salir victoriosos de este desafío mayor, y vamos lograr alcanzar más Estabilidad, más Paz, en beneficio de nuestros Pueblos.

at XIII Extraordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government

Good evening, beloved Brother President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and worthy successor of Bolivar and Chávez.
What are the ALBA Countries saying at this moment as we are gathered here? We have not launched any bombs, or missile, or issued threats; but what is indeed clear, what is in plain view, is that, on Wednesday, August 20th at 16:06 hours, August 20th 2025, the Israeli Defense Forces have begun their offensive on Gaza City, the same Israeli Press reports with reference to military sources:
«Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday authorized the IDF’s Plan to take control of Gaza City. The Operation called “Chariots of Gideon”, was approved after an evaluation meeting of the military leadership.
These are the policies… the policies of the Imperialist Powers which are arming the Israeli rulers, who are bent on destroying the Palestinian People, the People of Gaza. And they say it with great calm. But there are no major reactions in the world, no major reactions on the part of the so-called democratic countries, the European democratic Powers, much less the US rulers who feed with armaments the strategy to dominate that entire area; the goal is not only Gaza, the goal is to dominate that entire region, and the Imperialists of the Earth want it for themselves.
There are really two positions, two attitudes, totally contrasting: On the one hand, the cries of war, cries to murder, to continue killing children, to continue starving people in the area of Gaza. And, on the other hand, there are voices, it is true, sensitive voices that protest, but whose protests have no echo in international organizations, much less in the United Nations. They have no echo.
And on the other hand, not only do they attack, destroy and murder, in those regions, but also they attack and threaten our Region, Latin America and the Caribbean, which has been declared a Zone of Peace, we declared it that way, we decided it that way, and that is how we behave and act.
Despite the contradictions that may exist, despite the differences that may occur, in Latin America and the Caribbean, after all, we have been making our way, we have been advancing, overcoming the aggression of those who are destroying the People of Gaza, there; we have overcome blockades, sanctions, threats of all kinds.
And, finally, they have now issued a threat that is incredible, not the threat as such, because those who issue it have always acted with force, with violence, dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki; rather, what is incredible is the way, which I would describe as submissive, in which the international community reacts.
How is it possible that the whole of Latin America, a Territory of Peace, has not reacted unanimously and strongly, to the threat launched by the Neros in Washington, offering a reward of millions of dollars for the life of the Legitimate President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela?
Of course, the Bolivarian People have reacted, of course, the Peoples of ALBA have reacted, the Peoples most committed to the defense of the Dignity and Sovereignty of our countries; but there has been no forceful response from the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, there has not, and that is cowardice, that is submission, that is surrender. Because today they are acting against Venezuela but tomorrow they will try doing so with other Countries which today appear submissive to their policies, to the policies of imperialism.
And so we make a call to join forces, we have to join forces, join forces from the grassroots, from our Peoples, such that the Dignity of Latin America’s rulers steps up to defend the Sovereignty of their own Peoples. Because the threat, the aggression against the President of Venezuela, Brother Nicolás Maduro Moros, is more than just a threat to the Sovereignty of Venezuela, it is a threat to the Sovereignty of all of Latin America and the Caribbean, and that cannot be allowed to pass.
I would like to take a short tour of what history has been. Where when we have come together, we have achieved great Victories. Where the Peoples of the South united, under the Banner of Bolivar, of Sucre, under the banner of the Liberators, it was possible to defeat the greatest military power that had been installed in this Region, one that seemed impregnable. And that defeat was achieved, and later they did not succeed, the Spaniards did not succeed, they did not even try to retake what had been their colony, their immense colony in Latin America and the Caribbean.
And in Nicaragua, in the year 1855, newly independent Nicaragua from Spain, Central America became independent in the year 1821, already then in the year 1855 the Imperialists wanted to seize Nicaragua, and after Nicaragua all of Central America, and to go on to Mexico. That was a strategy they had back in the United States, in the wars between the North and the South, the racist forces of the South that were betting on expanding the North American territory, at the expense of Mexico’s territory, at the expense of Central American territories.
And in those years an expedition of mercenaries came to Nicaragua, well armed, well equipped, and they came to support a company that had obtained contracts with the then Liberal government, so that the right to use the Canal route through Nicaragua would be given to that company.
It was the time of the Gold Rush when thousands of the US people crossed from the East Coast to the West Coast, and thousands of US people passed through Nicaragua sailing along the Río San Juan, across the Lake, and finally arriving at the Rivas staging post, a small stretch of land that they managed to cross by loading the passengers who came in big ships, loading them on stagecoaches. The stagecoaches then traveled 20 kilometers and on the other side was another big ship waiting to take them to the West Coast.
And the filibusters who had been hired by a Liberal President, what they did was simply to ignore the Liberal President; they took Power, called Elections, organized by themselves, and from there the leader of their Expedition, William Walker, was elected President of Nicaragua, recognized at that time by the US State Department, with an ambassador presenting their credentials there in Washington.
But the rebellion of the People came, of the Indians, of the Peasants, of the Patriots, who were not illustrious Warriors, but simply Men and Women who had real Dignity and Courage to face that powerful force. And the fighting began, the filibusters were defeated, and with the fall of a filibuster Colonel, that sowed fear among them, and in the end they were defeated and expelled from Nicaragua.
In those circumstances how much courage is needed in a people to face an enemy as powerful as that. And then, there were Yankee troops again in Nicaragua, in the year 1912, after they had overthrown a Liberal Government and were installed in Nicaragua again. But they were confronted by a Patriot, Benjamin Zeledón, and who had Men and Women of Dignity who accompanied him in battle, and died fighting.
And Sandino, who saw that fighting and saw how Zeledón was paraded through the streets on a cart, so that people would be afraid and would not dare to confront the Yankees; Sandino, instead, did take courage and when the Yankee troops were there at that time, Sandino wrote:
«I accept the invitation to the struggle and I take it on myself and, to the challenge of the cowardly invader and the traitors of my Nation, I answer with my call to battle, for my breast and those of my soldiers will form walls where the legions of Nicaragua’s enemies will come crashing down. The last of my soldiers, who are the soldiers of Nicaragua’s freedom, may die, but first more than a battalion of yours, blond invader, will have bitten the dust of my rugged mountains.”
With that message Sandino started a battle that lasted eight years, where the Yankees used airplanes, bombed, and more troops came and more troops came, and yet more troops came, over eight years, until they had to withdraw and accept that they could not subjugate, they could not defeat Sandino.
And Sandino said to them in those moments of combat: «Come, you bunch of morphinomaniacs; coming to murder us in our own land, for I am waiting for you on firm ground…”
Bear in mind that Sandino was stating back then how the Yankees were trying to contaminate the Patriots, the People, via drug trafficking, and already back then in the United States they were trafficking morphine, they were already trafficking.
It was discovered even at that time how American soldiers and officers, on missions in Asia, would come back with morphine to deal drugs in the United States. In other words, the ones who started the drug trafficking business back then were the United States and they started it with morphine.
And Sandino saw this and stated it, he told them: «Come, you bunch of morphine addicts»; because he was sure that they were all coming sedated with morphine so as to have enough courage to fight Sandino.
We now, in fact, face a battle that we have not sought for ourselves. What we have sought is Peace and we have fought for Peace, we seek understanding, dialogue, but the Yankee responds with more coup attempts, they respond by trying to suffocate the Sister Republic of Cuba. Our solidarity with the People of Cuba, Miguel; our Solidarity with the People of Fidel, of Raúl, with that Heroic People.
By the way, why is it that the Imperialists are terrified of the emergence of Progressive, Revolutionary Governments? It’s that they do not lose sight of what happened as a result of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
When the Cuban Revolution triumphed it was truly a real surprise for the Imperialists, they did not expect the Cuban Revolution to triumph. But the Cuban Revolution triumphed and managed to consolidate itself under the leadership of Comandante Fidel.
The Cuban Revolution triumphed in the year 1959, 10 years passed, and already by 1969 in Latin America there was a lot of Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, many wanting to fight; that is to say, the example of the Resistance of the Cuban Revolution gave strength to the region’s Peoples and they fought everywhere, and we fought here in Nicaragua too, so that 20 years after the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the Sandinista Revolution triumphed in ’79… ‘59 to ‘79.
That is what the Imperialists are terrified of, the Strength of the Peoples when they decide to fight and when there are Leaders like Chávez, in the case of Venezuela, who took head-on the daunting task, the challenge, to fight for Peace, to fight for the Benefit of the Peoples. Chavez never planned any war, nor Nicolas either.
But there is the example that Revolutions present, there is the example of the Cuban Revolution and there is the example of the Sandinista Revolution. Then they must be liquidated, so that the Imperialists can take over the Sovereignty of the Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. But They Won’t Prevail! They Could Not Prevail, Nor Will They!
So many attempts against Cuba, so many attempts against Venezuela, so many attempts against Nicaragua… But They Could Not Prevail, Nor Will They! And today more than ever, now that we are more aware each day of the enemy we face and when we have also learned to advance, in the midst of difficulties, in the midst of blockades, in the midst of sanctions, we have managed to advance, we have managed to improve the living conditions of our Peoples.
Venezuela has really managed to move forward. Here in Nicaragua we have managed to defend Peace, and by defending Peace we are making progress improving social, economic, productive, educational, health conditions, and so on.
And Cuba is the strongest, most steadfast Heroic Example that we have, so we have to give it all our Solidarity, all our support, so that we can overcome this moment of challenge. Because it is a more serious challenge that we have facing us right now, a greater challenge but, I am sure, we will emerge victorious from this greater challenge, and we will achieve greater stability and more Peace, for the benefit of our Peoples.
